Last night Tootsie gave her bottles to baby O. next door. (Yes, I am fully aware that I probably shouldn't have still been giving my 28 month old bottles at night, but what can you do right?!) She got a "princess bed" (one of those mesh canopy things from Ikea that matches her bedding set) from K. a.k.a The Bottle Fairy. She also got to choose a treat to share at her big girl dinner party. Toots chose Swedish Fish and was so excited to be a big girl and get to eat them all! Then came bedtime. For an hour and a half she cried "Mommy get me outta here, I not tidered (tired)!" in between taking breaks to sing to her Mommy Bunny, Daddy Kitty, Ellie, Sissy Bunny and Nora Bunny who she all sleeps with. I didn't feel too bad about making her cry since she obviously wasn't that upset if she stopped peridically to chat with her animal family. But none the less it was a loooong hour and a half.
Which brings us to today's miracle. Naptime came. No bottle. I attempted to read Little Hoot to Nora but she promptly took it from me and said she was big and would read it to me. Which she preceeded to do. Then she tucked in the afore mentioned animal clan and said goodnight. And fell asleep. Just like that. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Pleeease let tonight go as smoothly.
Now to sleep train my 5 1/2 month old....any suggestions?!?! How do you keep both kiddos from waking each other up when one has to cry-it-out? Help!
